Data and information from 2‐years are presented, from a 5‐year study into the variability found in four fields in the United Kingdom. These sites represent soils and conditions that prevail in 50% of the United Kingdom's cereal production areas. Asset surveys, including complete soil surveys were carried out with yield data, crop analysis, remote sensing and field operations have been recorded since 1995. A number of data layers have been combined and interpreted into information that has assisted in the understanding into the causes of spatial and temporal variability.
