A survey conducted in major guava-growing areas in Uttar Pradesh, India during 2001-2003
showed the association of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. psidii and Verticillium sp. with wilted
trees. Isolation and pathogenicity studies identified the Verticillium sp. as Verticillium albo-
atrum. This is the first report of Verticillium albo-atrum causing wilt in guava.
