Arabic learning for children was developed to help them master Arabic. One of the goals of learning Arabic for Muslims in Indonesia is to understand the Quran. Thus, the Arabic vocabulary taught to children should be taken from the vocabularies in the Quran. This study aims to determine the suitability of the selection of vocabulary taught to children in Indonesia with the vocabulary in the Quran. The method used in this study is qualitative using library research. The data were obtained from sources that advocate Arabic vocabulary for children. The results showed that the Arabic vocabulary taught to children in Indonesia was not in accordance with the objectives of learning Arabic to understand the Quran. According to the results of this study, the selection of words to be taught to children in Indonesia should be adjusted to the vocabulary in the Quran. To see the level of compatibility of the words chosen with the vocabulary in the Quran, the categories used in this study can be applied.
