Green transportation has become a very important concept in today’s day and age when global warming is on the rise. Since transportation is a huge contributor in causing negative impacts on earth, green transportation will certainly benefit us all. There are different types of solutions for green transportation that can be implemented, one of them is ridesharing. By reducing the number of automobiles required for personal travel and increasing the use of available seat capacity, the dynamic ride-share model proposed in this research will assist to link individuals with appropriate routes and timetables. Using the trip record information from the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC), a step-by-step model is built. When compared to the total number of trips without ridesharing, the total number of trips decreased by 71% when the proposed ridesharing model was implemented. Thus, reducing the total cost incurred by the passengers for the trip by 37%.
